The Max Bistro and Bars are perfectly located just 5 minutes from Douglas town centre, within an area of outstanding beauty, overlooking open countryside and the beautifully manicured King Edward Bay Golf Club. Parking is ample and right outside the front door, providing an establishment of convenience.

With contemporary and relaxing decor the Max offers an environment that will appeal to absolutely everyone. The recent addition of an outside covered dining area completes the fantastic setting in which to enjoy your dining or function experience.

The Bistro

Proprietor Nick Kelly and his superb kitchen and front of house team work together to create the perfect environment in which to enjoy your dining experience, for families, business and couples alike.

Our menu has been designed to appeal to all tastes and pockets, with special emphasis on locally sourced ingredients, high levels of quality and value for money. We offer a mid-week Table D'hôte menu which is changed on a regular basis and a chef's special board to supplement our extensive seasonal a la carte menu. All of this, in addition to the family Sunday Lunch menu ensures that the Max can meet your every dining occasion.

Families are made to feel very welcome at the Max, with a special menu available for our younger diners offering a range of homemade dishes; alternatively we are more than happy to prepare half-sized portions of our main dishes. Between 4 and 7pm Monday to Saturday children eat free when dining with an adult ordering a main course (one child per adult meal).

Also on offer is the Max's "birthday person eats for free" which is available daily regardless of time of booking for parties of five or more (terms and conditions apply).

The Max Clubhouse Bar

The Bar provides a perfect, complimentary environment to the Bistro allowing patrons to relax in comfortable surroundings with a drink from the bar or a meal from one of our menus. It is an ideal 19th hole for golfers, a place to unwind after work or to finish off your evening in the Bistro. A great atmosphere is created by the modern decor and subtle background music. A widescreen TV will show major sporting events, but without spoiling the excellent ambience of the bar.

Function Rooms

Our function suite can cater for a wide range of functions ranging from a small intimate gathering of family and friends up to 130 people, so if you require a venue in a superb setting, where parking is ample, there is no finer place. The suite can be personalised according to your specific requirements and occasion making it the perfect location for Wedding Breakfasts and Receptions, Birthday celebrations, Christenings, Special Occasions and Funeral Parties. Whilst we do not open on Christmas Day we offer fabulous pre-Christmas lunches and dinners. Whether you are a couple or party, we will make your festivities even more special to remember.
