Kirk Lezayre Cross

Kirk Lezayre Cross
Kirk Lezayre Cross

This fragment is the only cross to have been found in Lezayre. It is a very small piece, possibly of Celtic origin.

Carved in high relief, it measures twenty one inches high, fourteen inches across and is six inches thick. It is a double sided cross, one side being very badly worn.

The side illustrated is a central device of four interlaced triquetras, formed by a continuous interlaced band.
