Legion Players invited to NDFA British All Winners Drama Festival

A local drama group, The Legion Players, have been invited to participate in the NDFA British All Winners Drama Festival which starts on Sunday 1st July.
 
The team, whos' play ‘ April in Paris’ by John Godber, came second at the IoM MADF Easter Festival, are travelling to Blackburn to perform this Sunday 1st July, competing against two other full length plays during the week long festival.

 

Last year the Society gained third place in the One Act Play section of the BAWF which was held in Guernsey with their production of Rob Johnson’s  ‘The Opposite of Claustrophobic’.

 

Legion players chairwoman and one half of the two person acting team Stephanie Gray said: "It's a real honour to be asked to perform at the All Winners Festival in Blackburn, the fact we have two teams participating from the Isle of Man speaks volumes to the talent and enthusiasm we have for great theatre on the island".
 
This is the second team from the Island invited to participate in the festival. Stage One youth drama Group are performing ‘In Need of Care’ on Tuesday 3rd July.
 
‘April in Paris’ is featuring at the Gaiety Theatre on Sat 14th July 7.30pm, with a captioned matinee at 2.30pm.
