The Garden Party to return in July next year

THE organisers of the summer festival The Garden Party have revealed that the event will return next year.

The local festival will take place on Friday, July 6, and Saturday, July 7, in 2012.

Organisers say a number of signed acts and local based artists have been booked to appear.

The Garden Party took over from the Fockerfest music festival and launched in July of this year.

Local artists who took part included Davy Knowles, Planes Over Paris, Uber-Room, Anna Goldsmith, The Heights and Savage Tim.

Next year's beneficiary will be the Isle of Man Youth Service's music project Soundcheck.

Soundcheck operates in Douglas, Peel and Castletown and aims to give young up and coming musicians and bands a place to rehearse and access equipment.

Organisers say they are "extremely excited to be supporting such an inspiring project".

The event held this year raised £12,000 for Naseem's Manx Brain Tumour Charity.
