Blue-eyed Eighties star Paul Young will be bringing his Tex Mex supergroup Los Pacaminos to the Gaiety Theatre tomorrow (Saturday 28th November) - and the good news is, it's not too late to kick up your heels and grab a ticket.
The seven-strong group, who first got together in 1993, are united by excellent musical pedigrees and a love of good-time Tex Mex music.
Paul Young, meanwhile, needs no introduction - one of the most distinctive vocalists of the Eighties, he enjoyed hits with 'Wherever I Lay My Hat', 'Common People' and 'Every Time You Go Away'.
He says of Los Pacaminos that they "started out just for fun, playing simply for the pleasure of it, and it just took off from there.
"What’s really nice is that everyone else in the band can sing too, and they do, all in their own very different styles. It’s real bar-room stuff, foot-stompers, not too many slow songs – a real party atmosphere!"
The Los Pacaminos live show will serve up an incendiary mix of classic mariachi, western swing, country, blues, rock 'n' roll, plus original compositions.
Tickets for the night are still available, priced at £20 for the Circle and £18 for the Stalls (concessions are also available).
Local singer-songwriter Clara Barker and ace folk duo Strengyn will provide sterling support for what promises to be another hugely enjoyable gig from JonnoPromotions.
A Real Tequila Spirit
To get the audience in the mood, there'll be a free tequila prize draw for anyone sporting Stetsons, Sombreros or any Tex-Mex headgear.
There'll even be a Tex-Mex themed stage set, specially designed and painted by artist Krista Magee and her students at Isle of Man College.
To complete the experience, Amber Bar & Restaurant is offering a pre-gig meal deal: Chilli with nachos and a bottle of Corona (or shot of tequila) for just £10 (available from 5pm).
