Tea Dance with a difference!

by Mary Doyle

Tea Dance with a difference! The Vintage Tea Ladies, Suzanne Ali and Linda Lewis, held a 1940's Afternoon Tea Dance at Port St Mary Town Hall in aid of Hospice Isle of Man.  The hall was decorated in 1940's style by Suzanne's Flowers, Port St Mary, and the tables laid with Linda and Suzanne's vintage china.

People dressed in 1940's outfits and the Home Guard Re-enactment Boys came along to support the afternoon. Several stalls were also there to give their support to Hospice.  All the food was homemade and served on lovely china cakes stands, with waiter service provided by local "Rough Boys".

The excellent music for dancing was provided by Eric Kelly from Peel and outside there were three 1940's cars loaned by Steve George, where you could have black and white photographs taken.  The afternoon was very successful and £1,400.00 was raised for Hospice.
