It was a great day for Team Isle of Man yesterday with our first medal of Glasgow 2014 with Pete Kennaugh winning silver in the Points Race in the Velodrome. It was a superb performance from Pete with Mark Christian and Joe Kelly also performing fantastically well. It is only the second silver that the island has won the previous being Dave Moore in Kuala Lumpur.
There were some more fantastic performances in the Swimming with National records set again in the pool.
Grant Halsall set a new record in the 50m backstroke and then swam inside the old record again in the semi final.
Bernice McGreal our Lawn Bowler finished her group games at Kelvingrove in West Glasgow with a defeat against the Zambian bowler yesterday.
David Clague and James Bradley were placed 16th and 21st in the Skeet qualifying and did not qualify for the final.
Rachel Glover and Gemma Kermode were placed 23rd and 25th in the Women’s 10m Air Rile qualifying and did not qualify for the final.
Today further action for Team IOM cyclists in the Scratch Race qualifying with Pete Kennaugh, Mark Christian and Joe Kelly competing again.
