King William’s College is auctioning off five of its pianos after a generous donation from the Friends of KWC has allowed it to upgrade its stock.
The instruments will be offered to parents, friends of the College and the wider KWC community by way of a sealed-bid auction. Bids must be received by Monday, 4th December with the outcomes made public on Friday, 8th December.
Director of Music Steve Daykin explained: ‘We are hugely grateful to the Friends of KWC for the donation to update our existing stock of pianos, which will allow us to provide a first-rate fleet of instruments for our students to use.
‘The five pianos being auctioned have all been well looked after and tuned on a regular basis, and we are sure they would be welcome additions to any home.’
The pianos are – two Bentleys, each with a minimum opening bid of £100; two Forrest & Grants, with minimum opening bids of £250 and £300 respectively; and a Steinhoven, minimum opening bid £200.
All bids should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org clearly stating which piano you are bidding on, and whether you wish for your bid to be considered for more than one of the pianos.
Successful bidders are expected to arrange for their piano to be removed from the college, and to cover the costs of the removal.
