Getting around by bike
You can travel around the Island by bike, either on the roads or on one of the six designated cycle tracks taking you through the countryside. We now have cycle tracks running along the promenade in Douglas also.
These tracks vary in difficulty, so no matter how capable you are are riding then you will always be able to find a track to suit you. Each of the six tracks takes you through some of the Island's rugged countryside, some over hills and others on the flat.
If you aren't able to bring your bike with you to the Island, you can always rent one whilst you are here, and at very affordable prices.
Many of the roads on the Island can be very narrow and aren't lit by street lights. You should be aware at all times, and make others aware of your presence by wearing bright clothing. Take special care cycling around bends on narrow country roads, and if you hear a vehicle the best thing to do is slow down or stop until they pass.
