Send Season's Greetings with Heritage Cards

Manx National Heritage are have added to their exclusive range of Christmas Cards this year with designs by two artists, one contemporary and one with an iconic place in Manx history.

Artist and photographer John Caley has created two watercolour paintings for one set of cards, featuring two of Manx National Heritage’s most popular sites, Cregneash and the Grove in Ramsey, in a captivating, wintry landscape.

The designs of famous Manx-born artist and craftsman Archibald Knox feature on the other two cards in the range.

His inspiration came from the unique interlaced motifs of Manx carvings and Celtic manuscripts and is illustrated in the 'Brightness of Snow' design, taken from his book of illuminated lettering, 'The Deer’s Cry'.

A hugely influential designer in the Art Nouveau movement, Knox's designs are one of the most iconic Manx exports.

Proceeds from the sale of these Christmas cards will contribute to the work of Manx National Heritage in protecting, preserving and promoting the Island’s unique heritage.

The cards are available to purchase from the Manx Museum Heritage Shop, which is open Monday to Saturday 10am - 5pm, and the House of Manannan Heritage Shop (in Peel), which is open seven days a week from 10am – 5pm.

They are also available by mail order - see the website www.storyofmann.com for details.
