Anyone who likes magic and animals should make their way to Douglas Youth Centre, in Kensington Road, on Sunday 28th March.

The Youth Service’s Youth Events Committee is staging a show by the Young Magicians of Mann and it promises spectacular illusions and loads of fun for all the family.

Organisers Mike Clague and Paul Martin are both members of the Magic Circle in London.

Mike said, "Last year’s show was sold out and we received lots of positive feedback from the audience. In fact, it was so well received that we went on tour later in the year to a number of primary schools.

"We like themed shows – it was ‘pirates’ in 2009 – and thought that magic linked to animals would be popular with all ages.

"We don’t anticipate problems with animal welfare activists, though.  The nearest you’ll see to live animals are the young magicians themselves and Daisy, our pantomime cow!

"Daisy is definitely the star of the show but she will be ably supported by Juan Corrin, brothers Michael and Richard Goddard, Melissa Dove, Philip Morrison, Andrew Martin, Chris Corlett and Daniel Quayle."

The Young Magicians have been rehearsing since the New Year, with new tricks that include a laughing hyena, a wolf, a lion, a snake, chickens and, of course, magical Daisy.

The audience can also expect to see an amazing levitation, a mysterious exchange and a holiday gift from Dracula’s castle.

The Youth Centre has a great performance space, with raked seating and professional lighting and sound, so everyone will have a good view of the action.

Tickets for the show, which starts at 2pm, are £5 each from the Youth Office in Hill Street on 686057.  Tickets may not be available on the door, as seating is limited.
