Royal Navy remove WW2 shells

Specialist teams from the Royal Navy were drafted in to help remove remnants from the Second World War.

Police have confirmed they had to call them in to remove World War Two shells from the garden of a property on Johnny Watterson Lane earlier this week.

They say at no time was there a risk to the public and they’ve thanked residents for their patience and understanding.

Civil Defence members have also been thanked for guarding the scene.

All roads in the area are open again as normal.
