Lloyds Staff Cycle for Save the Children

by isleofman.com 1st August 2011
To mark one year to go until the start of the London 2012 Olympics, Lloyds TSB staff cycled the 56 mile distance between all four of the bank’s Island branches on Wednesday 27th July. The cycle, which took place on an exercise bike from Carrefour in their Douglas Branch on Prospect Hill, raised over ?150, which was matched by Lloyds TSB to make a total of ?300 for Save The Children. Staff took turns on the cycling machine collectively covering the distance between Lloyds TSB Douglas, Castletown, Ramsey and Peel branches. Lucy Felton, Olympic Ambassador for Lloyds TSB commented: “It was a great way to mark the beginning of our in-branch Olympic campaign. The customer support was amazing and I would like to thank every person who helped make the day such a success. A big congratulations to all involved!” Islanders can still nominate someone to be a torchbearer in the Isle of Man next June. To find out how to nominate visit www.lloydstsblondon2012.co.uk/carrytheflame or call into any Lloyds TSB branch and pick up one of the Olympic nomination guides. Entries close 12th September 2011. - ENDS -
