Casino delay down to workload, says minister

There’s been no delay to the Island’s next casino because of inefficiency, according to economic development minister John Shimmin.

In the House of Keys this week he faced questions over progress being made to grant a second casino licence.

Onchan MHK Zac Hall asked about a six-month delay between the Council of Ministers approving the idea and the department looking for potential operators.

Mr Shimmin said his department's workload was to blame:
