by isleofman.com 3rd September 2011

A major new exhibition highlighting the Isle of Man's achievements in sport has been officially opened at the Manx Museum.

Our Sporting Life is a celebration of the Island's most successful athletes past and present, from cycling heroes to paralympians.

Lieutenant Governor Adam Wood and members of the Manx sporting fraternity were at a VIP gathering on Friday evening, to see the year-long exhibition unveiled.

It includes a wide range of memorabilia and photos, and many interactive attractions.

Curator Katie King says there are some fascinating individual stories (listen to audio file below):

Our Sporting Life is open to the public from today (Saturday).
