Minimum wage increase proposed

by isleofman.com 2nd September 2011

Workers aged 18 and over can look forward to a possible increase in the minimum wage later this year.

But the Minimum Wage Committee says the rise should be 10 pence an hour, raising the rate from ?6.10 to ?6.20, while all other rates will be frozen.

The Department of Economic Development says it will submit the necessary regulations to Tynwald in October.

If supported by the court, the increase would come into effect from November 1 and would be the first rise in the minimum wage since April last year.
