Local IT services provider Skanco Business Systems has begun preparations for the fourth Commonwealth Youth Games, which are being held in the Isle of Man between September 7 and 13.

Skanco, in partnership with the Manx government's Information Systems Division (ISD), is providing the organisers with the IT hardware needed to ensure the event runs smoothly, including free laptops and PCs for the large number of volunteers, as well as free support and maintenance.

The company is currently installing the hardware, consisting of over 30 units.

Skanco has a long history of supporting sport and youth initiatives on the Island, including hockey, rugby, football and sailing, and regularly provides sports kits for primary school football and netball teams.
