New MWT shop open

by isleofman.com 18th June 2011

The Manx Wildlife Trust's new shop in Peel has officially opened today (Saturday).

It follows many months of work to renovate a former derelict building in Market Place and forms part of the Peel regeneration project.

The Trust has re-located after many years based in the Courtyard at St Johns and, as well as the shop, the new building houses an information centre, a meeting room, kitchen area and offices for its administrative headquarters.

The work has been supported by grants from the Isle of Man Town and Village Regeneration Scheme and the Historic Building Conservation Scheme, along with numerous donations and sponsors.

Director of the Trust, Duncan Bridges, says it's a significant milestone in the Trust's history.
