Hundreds of people are preparing the brave the cold in the Island's traditional New Year’s Day charity dips.
The Peel Dip takes place at 12 noon and the three charities chosen for 2011 are the town's lifeboat, the Isle of Man branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, and Sailing for the Disabled.
It willl be the 28th time the event has been staged, and organisers are hoping to beat the 2010 total of 257 people in the water.
Over the years, Peel dippers have raised more than ?100,000 and organiser John Teare hopes more people than ever will get involved this time (play audio file):
Other dips are taking place at Laxey, Castletown, Port Erin and Port St Mary, and Gansey.
