A Douglas councillor says claims the council hasn't invested in its properties in recent times are 'complete and utter rubbish'.
David Ashford was responding to comments made by Treasury Minister Allan Bell in the wake of the Borough Council's withdrawal from the Bowl refurbishment scheme.
Mr Ashford says he's in favour of working with government whenever possible, and Mr Bell is an excellent treasury minister and a great ambassador for the Island.
But he believes his 'snide remarks' and 'rash comments' weren't helpful.
He also says that if he needs someone to blame for the problems with the Commonwealth Youth Games he should look closer to home:
