Gritting crews ready for further action

The Department of Transport says its crews will be on standby for the rest of the week in case snow returns to the Island.

The forecast is that it will stay cold until the weekend, when milder temperatures are expected.

But with the threat of snow and ice still hanging over the Island's roads, the department says road-gritters are ready to go out again if the need arises.

Spokesman Alan Hardinge says the last few days have been very busy:
