Plans to ease TT rush-hour congestion

by isleofman.com 20th August 2009

Changes to road closures being trialled during the Manx Grand Prix could be extended to next year's TT.

The Department of Transport wants all race organisers to allow a period during peak traffic where the TT course can be opened to allow workers to drive home.

Most of the course will open between 5 and 6pm from the Tuesday to Friday of race week at the MGP.

However, the Mountain Road will remain closed.

Member with responsibility for highways, David Quirk, says listening to the radio will help motorists avoid traffic.
