Leader of the Liberal Vannin Party, Onchan MHK Peter Karran, is refusing to comment on the resignation of the party’s chairman at the weekend.
Nigel Malpass announced he would stand down for personal and private reasons.
In a statement, Liberal Vannin said he would be succeeded by former party chairman Kate Beecroft.
Yesterday, Mr Karran refused to be interviewed about what the resignation means for the party, which campaigns for openness and transparency within government.
