Emergency services train with RAF

Lifeboat crews and coastguards from around the Island are taking part in a three-day exercise to practice routines with the RAF Search and Rescue helicopter crew.

It's giving emergency services here a rare opportunity to train with the team from RAF Valley, for helicopter rescues from land and sea.

The police, ambulance, fire and civil defence services are also taking part.

Today exercises were being held in Peel and Maughold, tomorrow it's the turn of Castletown and Port Erin, moving to Douglas on Wednesday.

Coastguard sector manager north Michael MacDonald says the next three days will offer some valuable training:
