Fathers struggle with work pressures

Fathers in the Isle of Man are apparently struggling to strike a balance between work and their home-life.

Research suggests they feel they are missing out on their children growing up because of increasing pressure to work long hours.

Some also feel that bosses would be unwilling to allow flexible working.

But Equality Advisor for the Department of Trade and Industry Sue Strang says the Employment Act, which came into force last year, allows people to ask to work part-time.

She says while it may not always be granted, the option must be considered by employers:
