PHAB celebration this weekend

There will be a special birthday party in Douglas on Saturday afternoon.

The Physically Handicapped and Able Bodied club, known as PHAB, will mark its 15th anniversary in the Island with a garden party at Masham Court, between 2pm and 5pm.

Members past and present will take part in the celebration, which will include a tree planting ceremony.

PHAB, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary in the United Kingdom, was taken over by the Department of Education youth service in 1992.

Assistant youth worker, Sarah Strickett-Morling, says the club has grown significantly in that time:
