MHK on amenity site situation

Onchan MHK David Quirk says the Department of Local Government and the Environment should be a regulator, not the operator, of civic amenity sites.

He tabled lengthy and detailed questions in Tynwald this week regarding the running of the Middle River Amenity site in Douglas.

Mr Quirk (pictured) says there is uncertainty over the operation of the site at the moment, with Tels Limited, which runs it on behalf of the Douglas, Braddan and Onchan local authorities, being given notice to leave by DoLGE:
