Amenity site confusion

Three local authorities have come together to try and sort out who, legally, should be operating the Eastern Amenity Site.

Currently the firm Tels is responsible, under a contract signed with Douglas Corporation, and Braddan and Onchan commissioners. But that agreement related to the old amenity site at Snugborough, which has created problems in relation to the operation of the new, modern facility.

Now the authorities hope a letter from them to Tels, giving the required six months notice, can start a tender process.

However, Chairman of Braddan Commissioners, Margaret Hodge (pictured), says it might not be that simple:
