Vikings knock-out Valkyrs

by isleofman.com 20th November 2013
There was a shock result in the Bridgewaters Mixed Hockey Cup semi-finals last night.
After being thrashed 10-2 in the Premier League by arch-rivals Bacchas "A" on Saturday, Valkyrs "A" were dumped out of the knock-out competition by Vikings "A".
The tie finished 2-2 at full-time but Vikings went on to win 2-1 on penalty-flicks.
The other Cup semi-final between Bacchas "A" and Castletown Celts is scheduled for next Tuesday evening.
In the Bridgewaters Mixed Plate quater-finals, Bacchas "C" defeated Harlequins "A" 5-3 thanks to goals from Tony Bentley-Roberts, Sam Franklin, Louise Franklin, Craig Leece and Richard le Page from a penalty corner.
Player-of-the-match went to Erin Murphy for a mature display.
And a Christian Steriopoulos hat-trick inspired Cammags to a 4-0 victory over Harlequins "B" - Donald Stewart scoring the other.
The remaining semi-finals are Ramsey Ravens against Saracens Sabres and Ramsey Rookies versus Cushags.
