Douglas bounce back

by isleofman.com 7th December 2013

After slipping up last week at Northwich, Douglas bounced back to take a maximum five points in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division One.

They defeated Tyldesley 28-7 to stay in second place.

The bulk of the work was done in the first half after tries from Niall Killey, Craig McGee and Daryn Thompson, plus two penalties and a conversion from Bryn Snellgrove, gave them a useful 23-7 half-time lead.

In the second half, try machine Thompson added his second of the match to secure the bonus point.

In Division Two, Vagabonds did just enough to squeeze past Ramsey 10-5 at Mooragh Park.

A first half try from number eight Joe Louw put Vagas 5-0 ahead at the break.

In the second half, Rob Hunter crossed to double the lead.

Vagas survived a late Ramsey revival to close out the game after Nick McCudden pulled one back for the home side and secured a useful losing bonus point.
