Children plant trees at Conrhenny

by isleofman.com 8th March 2014

Youngsters from a dozen of the Island's primary schools braved wet and blustery weather to join in the Trees for Life initiative at Conrhenny plantation.

They planted saplings they had been nurturing all winter as part of the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture scheme. To mark the retirement of the Island's longest-serving headteacher, Nigel Bennett of St John's Primary school, he had the honour of planting the scheme's 3,000th tree.
