Union to meet bus chiefs on Thursday

by isleofman.com 10th March 2014
It's hoped a final resolution to the long-running bus dispute could be reached this week.
Last week, an industrial tribunal found that drivers had not been unfairly dismissed by the Department of Community Culture and Leisure.
The department stated it hoped that would be an end to the matter.
But National Officer for Unite the Union Bobby Morton, who has been representing the drivers, says whilst the tribunal may have made their ruling the union may yet decide to appeal, and the underlying industrial problems still remain.
He hopes agreement can be reached when he meets with Bus Vannin representatives on Thursday, but isn't ruling out further industrial action if no headway can be made.
