by isleofman.com 26th January 2017

Harvey Briggs Onchan Library was delighted to receive two awards in Save The Children’s Festival of Trees at Ronaldsway Airport this year. The library’s tree, kindly sponsored by Celton Manx, was awarded 1st Place in ‘Best In Festival’, and 3rd place in the Travellers’ Favourite Category.

This enchanting tree was created by talented library team member and artist, Quinn Shipton. She brought to life the much loved story of ‘The Magic Faraway Tree’ by Enid Blyton, complete with miniature crafted dwellings for all the ‘Faraway Folk’.

Save The Children’s ‘Festival of Trees’ transforms a floor of the airport into a Christmas wonderland every year. Members of the public can vote for their favourite tree, and make a donation to support the vital work of the charity to help vulnerable children Worldwide.
