KPMG Isle of Man has announced that it is holding an Online Gaming Summit on the Isle of Man, with the aim of bringing the sector’s major players and service providers together to discuss the Island’s potential in the global marketplace.
The inaugural KPMG eGaming Summit will be held on Tuesday 23rd November at the Mount Murray Hotel on the Isle of Man. Key stakeholders and decision makers will attend, by invitation, to consider and debate how to ensure the Isle of Man remains ‘A Good Place to Play’.
The summit will be opened by the Honourable Allan Bell, Minister of the Department of Economic Development. The morning programme will consider issues impacting the sector as a whole, with specific emphasis on businesses licensed in and operating from the Isle of Man. This will include an update from the Isle of Man Government’s Gambling Supervision Commission and Department of Economic Development. A panel workshop will consider the changing environment and key issues. Following lunch, a lively group of speakers will lead sessions on regulation in the sector, responsible gaming, new developments globally and what it means to be a service provider to the gaming sector. There will be an opportunity to discuss specific concerns with the panel of local and off-island speakers towards the end of the day. Following the conference, Microgaming will host the evening entertainment.
Russell Kelly, Director responsible for eGaming services at KPMG Isle of Man, commented: “The eGaming sector is expanding globally, and is already a major contributor to the Manx economy. It is crucially important that the Island continues to make itself an attractive jurisdiction for the licensing and operation of online gaming companies. This involves input from the government, key industry players and service providers in finance, IT and a variety of other key sectors. This summit will bring those key players together to discuss the needs of the industry as it grows and develops.”
A further release will announce the speaker line up as it becomes available.
