Flower Festival Photo Competition Winners Announced

The Manx Heritage Flower Festival photographic competition prize giving ceremony took place on Monday 27th September at St Andrew’s United Reformed Church in Douglas. The Flower Festival taskforce expressed their delight at the large number of entries received for this year’s photographic competition and the Children's painting competition. June Collister, Flower Festival taskforce member, said: ‘It was a very difficult task to select the winners and the highly commended entries. We would like to say a very big thank you to everyone who submitted an entry as they all contributed to a fascinating overview of this year’s 20th birthday celebration.’ The photographic competition was sponsored by Richard Kinley and Mannin Media and the winners are as follows: Winner Peter Tucker Highly Commended Pauline Blinston Paul Craker Pauline Guest Kevin Luff Mrs B M Shimmin Peter Tucker The children's painting competition was sponsored by Tynwald Mills and the winners are: Under 7age group 1st Rebecca Park 2nd Chelsea-Leigh Stirzaker 3rd Henry Divall Highly Commended Blae Richardson Sophia Iankova 7-11 age group 1st Lindsey O'Brien 2nd Eloise Corlett 3rd Lewis Withington Highly Commended Rosie Shirtliff Leah Kelly Special needs 1st Darius Harper 2nd T J Schofield 3rd Sonia Atchison Highly Commended Calum Dorrian The Flower Festival taskforce would also like to express their thanks to all sponsors, listed in the Festival brochure, who provided financial or practical assistance.
