Guy Wolstencroft, Manager of Manx Hidden Hearing, who has just recently competed in Eurostar’s Tri-City Athlon, has to date raised 1030 pints in total, reaching his ultimate goal of a pint of blood for every 50 metres travelled.
Thanks to help from supportive men and women across the country, Guy has helped to raise enough blood to save over 3000 lives. A pint of blood is a lot to give especially to someone you don’t know or have never even met and Guy greatly appreciates everyone who helped.
He said earlier on his Facebook page:
“Well, coming to the end of this enjoyable journey - I have just checked the shareapint@hotmail.com and with the texts that have come in - we have achieved over our goal of 1,030 pints - I CANNOT THANK EVERYONE ENOUGH!! as every single pint can save 3 lives. The journey will continue as we can all continue donating and in 2011 an even greater challenge has been lined up......... BE PROUD OF GIVING!”
Guy intends to continue his crusade of saving lives, each year with a new challenge in mind. Although he has reached his target for this event, Guy is still encouraging more donations.
Find out how to donate by visiting www.gov.im/dhss/health/blood or by calling 650637. Stay tuned for more updates and how you can support Guy in his next endeavour by joining the Facebook Group “Your blood, my sweat - NO MORE TEARS!” or by emailing shareapint@hotmail.com .
