End2End Challenge Orangisers Praise Police and Marshals Part 2

by isleofman.com 27th September 2010
‘Overall, however, we are extremely pleased with the way the event took place,’ Steve added. ‘It’s a massive job to organise the transport of riders and their bikes to the start and then again to take them back after the finish – and that’s without taking into account the organisation needed all along the route. ‘But we are very pleased with the way it went. Certainly, the competitors seemed to be very happy and they all want to come back again next year – and that’s what it’s really all about.’ The organisers wish to publicly thank clubs who provided marshals and individuals who helped during this year’s events – Ramsey Rugby Club, Lions Club, Onchan Scouts, the Army Cadets, Peel Football Club and Tim Crookall MHK, Margy and Juan Bimson, the Air Training Cadets, Castletown Cricket Club, Juan Cottier (Surby), Mr Costain (Surby), Hubert Kermeen (Ballacraine), Derek Cain and the various farmers and land owners who gave permission for the event to travel over their property. The organisers – and competitors – were also grateful for the support of Green Mann Spring Water who provided more than 2,000 litres of bottled Manx water for riders at all the checkpoints. The Sleepwell Hotels End2End Mountain Bike Challenge was once again filmed for TV and will be shown on Sky Sports shortly. The date will be announced in the media when known. • Potential marshals for the 2011 event can register their interest on the Manx Mountain Bike Club website (www.manxmtb.org). The date for the 2011 event will be announced shortly on the website. ENDS
