Mannannan Lions Receive Cash Boost

Alliance & Leicester International makes a donation of ?300 Santander’s local savings subsidiary, Alliance & Leicester International, have donated ?300 to the island charity Mannannan Lions. The funds were raised during recent dress down days both at the banks offices but also at it’s sister company Bradford & Bingley International. The Mannannan Lions Club was formed in 2007 and has a committed and growing membership. Lions are men and women who volunteer both their time and resources to helping others. Lions Clubs International was founded in 1917 and is the world's largest service club organisation with 1.3 million members in approximately 45,000 clubs in 205 countries and geographical areas. Carole Malarkey, spokesperson for the charity said “The Mannannan Lions Club Members would like to thank Alliance and Leicester for their generous Charity Donation for which they were truly grateful. It will be used on the Island to help with community based issues. They would also like to thank George Campbell for his support and hard work in the local community.” Commenting on the support the bank have been able to provide the charity, Community Affairs Manager George Campbell said “The Mannannan Lions do a great deal of good work across the Isle of Man. I am sure our donation will assist them in fulfilling their objectives further”. - Ends -
