Police are investigating the report of a pair of specialist spectacles that went missing from a table situated in a recreational grassed area in Broogh Wyllin, Kirk Michael on Sunday 29th July 2010. The spectacles have been specially produced for a young person and their loss has caused a great deal of upset and distress to the child. They are ‘Hilco Jam’n’ and a made from a clear plastic with specialist yellow lenses fitted. They are very unique and the arms are stamped with the serial number 36/622/3000. Peel Police are very keen to speak with anyone who has seen these spectacles or can provide any information as to their whereabouts. Anyone who may have information that can assist the Police enquiries is asked to contact PC118 Beirne on 631551. ENDS ----------------------------------------------------- Between about 5.00pm on Saturday 11th and 4.30pm on Sunday 12th September 2010 damage has been caused to a maroon coloured Ford Fiesta car which was parked in a reserved parking bay in Strand Street, Peel. The vehicle has had it’s windscreen shattered and a large dent put in it’s bonnet. Constable Mark Kerruish said that the damage has possibly been caused by someone falling against the vehicle during a scuffle. Anyone who has information about this incident should contact Peel Police Station on 842208. A reward may be payable as a result of your information. Crimestoppers will never ask callers for any personal details ENDS ----------------------------------------------------- Police are investigating a fire that took place at Parkers Upholstery warehouse in Hills meadow industrial estate between the hours of 2:00pm on Saturday 11th September 2010 and 10:30am on Sunday 12th September 2010. The fire caused the sprinkler system to activate and a significant amount of damage was caused to the building and its contents. Police are treating this incident as suspicious and would like to hear from anyone who has seen anything in the area during this time. Ends ------------------------------------------------------ A report has been made to the police in Peel regarding a piece of wood with nails hammered through it being placed on a green lane off the switchback road in Peel. This one off incident has generated publicity on forums causing concern to the end to end cycle race on Sunday. (Tomorrow 12th September 12010) The police would add that the item found was not on the end to end route and would like to reassure members of the public that it is safe to cycle the green lanes of the island. If this item was placed there maliciously to cause injury the offenders would face criminal prosecution by the police if caught. ENDS ----------------------------------------------------- The Police are investigating an incident of alleged dangerous driving that took place on the straight between Creg-Ny-Baa and Kate’s Cottage on Thursday 9th September at between 3:15pm and 3:20pm involving an overtake of four vehicles by a blue Honda CRV. The Police would be keen to speak to the drivers’ of the vehicles involved in this matter and would ask that they contact Ramsey Police as soon as possible. Ends
