Request For Information

by isleofman.com 8th September 2010
Police are investigating a burglary that occurred in the area of Laureston Grove overnight on Tuesday 7th of September. A male has taken a number of items from a property including vehicle keys and has then attempted to drive off in a car with those keys. The male however has crashed it into another parked car causing extensive damage and fled the area. A witness has watched a young male aged in his late teens, early twenties with light coloured hair wearing a light jacket run away from the car toward the area of Laureston Close, St Ninians Road and Ballaquayle Road. Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have been in that area between 1am and 2:30am of Wednesday morning who may have seen a male matching the description given to contact the police on 631212. Police are also taking this opportunity to remind the public that although the Isle of Man is still a very safe place to live it is always better to air on the side of caution and make sure that your property is properly secured at night and during the day with all doors locked and any valuable items out of sight of windows to deter opportunist criminals. Simple, basic measures like this are easily achieved and highly affective. Ends
