Thompson Travel B v Ashley Allstars Thompson have welcomed some new players this season, some of whom made their debut in this match. Both teams made a great start and play was very even throughout the first half, the score level at 10 all by half time. The third quarter was also evenly fought, with Allstars taking the lead by just a few goals. However, it was not to be for Thompson as Ashley pushed hard in the final quarter, whereas Thompson couldn’t keep up the momentum. Final score Ashley Allstars 34 – Thompson Travel B 21. Players of the match; Michelle O’Malley for Thompson and Louise Russell for Allstars. Thompson Travel A v Toomraiders Full of confidence from their cup win at the end of last season, Toomraiders raced into an early lead, taking the first quarter 13 – 3. This was very much the way of the match, as Thompson struggled to keep up with the quick hands and reactions of the Toomraiders girls. Thompson faired slightly better in the remainder of the match, but could match the pace of the all round skills of the Raiders. Final score, Toomraiders 49 – Thompson A 27. Players of the match; Julie Bush for Thompson and Rachel Cook for Toomraiders.
