IOM SRA - Team Squash - A League

by isleofman.com 4th October 2010
A League Round-Up Results: Davrost (124) v Edgewater B (93); Edgewater A (135) v Stone Art (73); Island Restorations (135) v Deloitte (96); MAS (132) v Gamers (126) ; Motorvation (135) v Jelly Beans (0) Despite the season getting underway slightly later than last year not all the teams were ready for the first week of play. Following a last minute failure to secure sponsorship Jelly Beans could not put up a team to play Motorvation, who did not seem to have full team of registered players available themselves. Elsewhere last year’s winners, Island Restorations, got their campaign off to a good start with a maximum points win over the Deloitte sponsored junior team. Edgewater A were also maximum points winners over Stone Art where Richard Corlett continued his good form from the Dave Karren Pronto Rosebowl competition and Chris Cave, for the away side, outscored his more experienced team mates. Rob Colquitt, for Davrost, got off to a good start after 19 months away due to injury, winning his first game against Gordon Beresford. He didn’t have the consistency to follow it up as Beresford took the next three to give Edgewater B their only match win of the night. MAS and Gamers played out a close fought contest where each tie went to four games. The home side won 2-1 on the ties and had the better of the points tally, but only by a very slight margin. Fixtures - Monday 4th October Davrost v Gamers (at NSC); Deloitte v Jelly Beans (at NSC); Edgewater A v Edgewater B (at Mount Murray); MAS v Motorvation (at NSC);l Stone Art v Island Restoration (at Mount Murray) For full matches reports visit: www.iomsra.com Ends
