B League Round-Up Results: All About Gardens (225) v Racketeers Academy (117); Apollo Consulting (187) v Jewel Tech 210); Body & Mind (63) v Alloms Jewellers Juniors (225); International Divers (225) v Racketeers (92); Island Exhaust (225) v Onchan Outcasts (144); Motorvation G (109) v Lions (217) As the season gets under way some of the B league teams are struggling on their own endeavours without sponsors. Last year’s junior Lions sponsor, Habib European Bank, are, understandably, concentrating their effort towards the Pakistan flood disaster. Motorvation G have been formed with the intention of getting next year’s Island Games ladies bonding as a team, while Onchan Outcasts are without sponsors following the demise of the Onchan Squash Club. Meanwhile All About Gardens, Alloms Jewellers Juniors, International Divers and Island Exhaust all started their season with maximum points wins. At the other end of the table Onchan Outcasts, Racketeers, Racketeers Academy and Body & Mind were without a game win in their opening matches, although Academy managed more points than their senior team. The Body & Mind team, the only all-ladies squad in the league, were all making their competitive debuts and were consequently quite nervous. Motorvation G managed one game win, courtesy of Vix Watterson, despite not being able to field a full team on the night. The most interesting tie of the week was between the B & C league winners from last year, Jewel Tech and Apollo Consulting. Apollo stunned the Jewel Tech travelling support by winning three of five games but they still ended up on the wrong side of the 210-187 score-line.
