Woman Rescued from Douglas Harbour Douglas Coastguard Rescue Team were alerted at approximately 21.05hr tonight (Sunday, 3rd October following a report of a woman in the water in Douglas Harbour . A life-ring had been thrown to the woman who was very cold and a Police Officer attempted to recover her from the water and was able to get her alongside the hulk of the Solway Harvester fishing vessel. Two Coastguard Rescue Swimmers dived in to the water in immersion suits and were able to get her safely ashore The woman was recovered from the water conscious but extremely cold and passed to the care of Paramedics. Coastguard Check out Object in Water Douglas Coastguard received a call from a member of the public at approximately 19.40hr tonight (Sunday, 3rd October,) reporting an unidentified object in Douglas Bay opposite the Rutland Hotel. The Douglas Coastguard Station Officer attended to investigate and was able to identify the object as a tree trunk, probably washed out to sea following the heavy rain the night before. The Coastguard stress that they are always willing to check out anything reported by the public. Better to be safe than sorry. ENDS
