Isle of Man Archery Report

This week saw the start of the new indoor season with a low turnout due to four archers away in Delhi and everyone staying at home supporting them with the opening ceremony being televised. This weeks Portsmouth round was a warm up to what should be an exciting season ahead Tony Hartley starts of his campaign only seven points of his PB and Charlotte George shoots only four points under her PB. Kirsten George puts in a starting PB with this being her first indoor compound competition since changing disciplines last April Anne Rutland puts four points on her PB while juniors Bradley Layton and Adam Wright both put over hundred points on their PB’s. Gents Recurve Tony Hartley 60 30 561 Dave Berry 59 9 505 Ladies Recurve Charlotte George 60 36 574 Anne Rutland 60 18 535 PB Junior Ladies Compound Kirsten George 60 13 544 PB Junior Gents Recurve Chris Holmes 55 8 467 Bradley Layton 57 2 380 PB Adam Wright 58 1 342 PB Next weeks round will be a Portsmouth handicap at Onchan Community Sports Hall and the start times are 10am setup for a 10:30 start morning shoot and 1:30 for 2pm start afternoon shoot and Monday nights return to the fold with a 7:30pm setup for 8pm start for a couple of weeks while Team Isle of Man are away in Delhi after the opening ceremony went of extremely well and all faces turn to the competition on Monday. Latest news from Delhi shows ladies compound archer Aalin George the youngest member of the team put in a fantastic Isle of Man Record 670 finishing 20th overall, Sarah Rigby scores 658 finishing 28th and gents compound archer Adrian Bruce scores 634 finishing 43rd in the Fita 720 qualifying round.
