Manx2.com topped the service polls in a new independent survey by Isle of Man Newspapers.
In the survey, people were asked:
“It's been a mixed year for airlines operating to and from the Island, with everything from the economic climate to the volcanic ash cloud causing problems. Which of these do you think provides the best service?”
The results, in alphabetical order were:-
Aer Arann 18%
easyJet 11%
Flybe 20%
Manx2 26%
Other 25%
Manx2.com Chairman Noel Hayes said: ‘At Manx2.com we have a reputation for going the extra mile to look after passengers and this was undoubtedly the case with the ash crisis earlier this year – when we flew over 70 flights between the Isle of Man and the two adjacent Islands to keep the Isle of Man’s essential air links operational.
‘As a locally-owned and locally-based key provider of Isle of Man air links we’ve worked especially hard in the last year to maintain a strong and healthy route network for passengers, in spite of the uncertainties caused by 500,000 empty seats to the Island this year; a direct consequence of new entrants and a declining market.
‘Having been voted the Isle of Man’s best small company twice in recent years at the annual IOM Newspapers Excellence Awards we are delighted and encouraged to be voted as providers of best service in the current market.’
Manx2.com employs 60 staff and has a fleet of seven aircraft providing up to 30 flights a day to the Isle of Man. Manx2.com is proud to be a small Isle of Man based company carrying 100,000 passengers a year between the Isle of Man and Blackpool, Belfast, Leeds Bradford, Newcastle, Gloucester and Jersey.
