Gymnastics Release

by isleofman.com 5th October 2010
Isle of Man Sport Aid recipient, 12 Year Old Tony Duchars got his gymnastics season off to a winning start on Sunday at the East of England Championships. The East Region is well known for its very high standard of gymnastics; making up the majority of England’s Commonwealth Games Team competing in Delhi this week. The young stars of the future put on a magnificent competition to open their season trying out the new high value moves which had been learnt over the summer. Tony was very excited to take his new double back dismounts to competition, a new vault and his very impressive Pommel Routine helped him to finish 2nd overall. With such a good finish Tony was back in the gym polishing up his moves and is already working on improving his routines for the British Championships which take place in Leicester in November. Tony is generously supported by the Gubay fund for sporting excellence and would also like to thank SMP, Friends and Family who have supported him. Without their help he would not be able to achieve so much. Ends
