Trading Places In Douglas This Christmas

by isleofman.com 7th October 2010
Christmas is coming early to Douglas with a traditional Christmas market on Saturday December 11 in Douglas Market Hall. The event is being co-ordinated by market trader Chris Carr who said: ‘We’re planning a truly traditional Christmas market day with Father Christmas in his grotto and a choir from Ballakermeen High School singing carols. This is going to be a great celebration of the festive season and, importantly, of Manx produce. ‘It’s early days yet but the intention is to partner with local food outlets and restaurants to offer complimentary tasters of food and drink such as Manx broth, mulled wine, roasted chestnuts and mince pies, and to assemble a wide selection of stalls selling locally made Christmas gifts and produce from local suppliers, so we’re inviting applications from traders across the whole Island to get involved.’ Stalls will be priced at ?25 per pitch and allocated on a first-come first-served basis. Closing date for applications is Friday October 30. To apply, contact Chris Carr, 365880, chistophercarr06@aol.com. Ends
