by isleofman.com 8th October 2010
Sunday 10 October 2010 is on track to be the most widespread day of action the world has ever seen. Nearly 7,000 events have been registered in 188 counties for the 10/10/10 Global Work Party – a big global push to take real, practical action on climate change. With registrations still streaming in, the only countries unaccounted for are North Korea, Andorra, Equatorial Guinea and San Marino. Barring those, the entire planet is engaged. “We’re so excited and proud that the Isle of Man is part of this incredible global event,” said Katie Keenan, Administrator and Events Coordinator for the One World Centre. “Manx action includes the renewal of the Middle River cycle path, the launch of a community orchard in Noble’s Park, and two fantastic family events at Laxey and Milntown.” Don’t miss these great days out for 10/10/10 - this Sunday! 10/10/10 Celebration at the Laxey Wheel, 10am – 7.30pm Children's activities from 2pm, plus stalls, music from local bands, entertainment, local food and drink, community art projects, an electric bike and more…just ?2, all day!
