Peel Lifeboat Report

Peel lifeboat Ruby Clery was launched on Friday evening in winds gusting to 32 knots to assist a 32 foot yacht Peel lifeboat under the command of Coxswain Paul Cain was launched at 9-30pm. Friday evening to assist 32 foot single hulled yacht “Windswept” in trouble 9 miles South West off Peel. The yacht with four people on board had fuel troubles on passage from Tramore to Peel and onwards to Milford Haven. In very strong winds Coxswain Cain attempted to put a crew member on board the yacht but conditions proved too rough. Eventually a tow was established and at 1-10am Saturday the lifeboat made Peel with the vessel in tow. The yacht with the four people on board was taken straight into the inner harbour in very tricky conditions and the crew checked over by a first responder. One lady on board having been taken ill,in the bad conditions. The crew of volunteers said the conditions were abysmal and the tow very difficult and arduous. Ends
